The Georgia Pre-K Program is a lottery funded educational program designed to prepare four year olds for kindergarten.
Dogwood Hills Academy offers the Georgia Pre-K Program to those children that are age four on or before September 1st of
the current school year. Enrollment priority is given to those children currently enrolled and attending Dogwood Hills Academy
at the time funding is approved by the State, typically late May or early June. Wait list forms are available for non-attending
families after March 1st. Any open spaces not filled by attending children will be filled based on a lottery drawing held by
management after funding approval.
At Dogwood Hills Academy our degreed, certified, experienced lead teachers, along with their degreed assistants, stimulate each
child to explore the many areas of learning and development. Social and interpersonal skills are enhanced through dramatic play
and kindergarten readiness activities. Science and math are explored through hands on, curiosity stimulating experiments.
Early literacy skills are enriched by reading, writing and dramatic activities.
Each week revolves around a theme with math, science, literacy, music and movement activities planned. Activities aimed at
kindergarten readiness become more intense as the school year progresses. Dogwood Hills Academy follows the Cherokee County
School District calendar for the Georgia Pre-K Program, with extended care available before and after the program hours. Camps
are also offered during all school breaks.
